I’m not Adventurous

I’ve enrolled into the belief that I am not Adventurous,

that I rarely move out of my comfort zone.

It’s because I haven’t done a bungy jump,

run a marathon,

nor climbed a mountain.

But I’ve leaped into the unknown,

moving to a new city on my own,

going back to school as an adult student,

I’ve struggled to make ends meet,

on a student loan,

on unemployment,

on minimum wage.

I’ve surmounted the death of my Mother,

of losing my childhood home,

of loneliness,

and depression.

I am not Adventurous.
