She lived outside in a cat house with his other three cats.
He liked cats but didn’t want them in the house.
He’d built the cat house to shelter them.
Each morning, his back door would open.
The cats would run to him for greetings, cuddles and food.
One day the back door didn’t open.
One day he wasn’t there to greet his cats.
One day he wasn’t there for cuddles.
One day he wasn’t there to feed them.
Eventually the other cats ran away.
But she stayed on.
Waiting.
